The family of Alexa Robinson has turned to The Shelby Foundation to establish a scholarship fund in her memory.
Inspired by the motto, “You only live once,” Alexa lived her life to the fullest. The beautiful and vibrant 22-year-old was known for her fun, passionate, and kind personality. She loved with all her heart. This driven young woman juggled work and school and was on track to graduate Ashland University in May, when tragedy struck on November 14, 2020, and she passed away unexpectedly.
Ensuring her joyful spirit will be remembered forever, the family established an annual scholarship in her name at The Shelby Foundation. Two scholarships will be awarded in 2021 to graduating high school seniors. Candidates applying for the scholarship should exhibit a positive and a hardworking nature, involvement in extracurricular activities, show financial need, and possess a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
Her mother, Monica Robinson, shared, “I received a local scholarship when I graduated high school and when Alexa graduated in 2017, she also received local scholarships. It is important to us to pay it forward.”
Friends and family can donate to the scholarship fund online by clicking on the link below or by sending a check to 142 North Gamble Street, Suite F, Shelby.

Director Carrie Kemerer said, “There is solace in keeping a loved one’s memory alive, so scholarships can turn a horrible situation, into one of hope and promise. Our hearts break for Alexa’s family and we are honored to help them in this very special way.”
