The Shelby Foundation is making summer more exciting by continuing to support the Seltzer Pool in bringing Family Fun Night to the children of the Shelby area.
Foundation Director Carrie Kemerer said, “The Shelby Foundation’s Board truly wants to make a difference in the community. We want to positively impact people’s lives, especially kids, outside of the traditional grant-making cycle. We know there are children who cannot afford the simple luxury of going to Seltzer Pool to swim, so if we can assist in providing an evening of fun, we want to do it.”
In the past, Seltzer Pool hosted the Family Fun Night by offering discounted admission rates for late night swimming and games. For the second year in a row, the support of the Foundation means the event will boasts free admission, free snow cones, games, swimming, and more.
Board Chair Frank Benham wanted to do something special for kids and was the visionary behind the collaboration. “All kids deserve to have a great summer,” he said.
Family Fun Night will take place three times this summer on Wednesdays, June 15, July 13, and August 10, from 7 to 10 p.m. for kids of all ages and their parents. The events will go on rain or shine but will be cancelled if there is severe weather.
